Boston’s – Coon Rapids, MN

DSC05794_bostonsEver wondered how you can eat endless pizzas guilt free? Well your prayers has been answered!

DSC05796Boston’s in Coon Rapids Minnesota is participating in the annual Boston’s Cares fundraising campaign. Part of the proceeds made from the sale of Boston’s Gourmet Pizzas along with the additional optional donation from guest is donated to Boston’s Pizza Foundation in support of No Kid Hungry.  On top of that, in the spirit of Valentine’s Day you can also enjoy a heart-shaped pizza till February 14th! Now how can you resist that?

DSC05800Last summer I was in Michigan for work and Boston’s was my go to place as it was right next to the hotel I was staying in. Their menu had very good selection so that I could try something different every evening. I loved their pastas and salads but never tried the pizza. Recently we came to know that there is a Boston’s restaurant in Coon Rapids.

We went to Boston’s this afternoon and tried one of their heart-shaped pizzas. There were many to choose from but we went for Sicilian and The Flying Buffalo and both the pizzas didn’t disappoint.

DSC05833Sicilian as expected came with Spicy Italian sausage, smoked ham and pepperoni topped with thinly sliced red onions, green peppers, mozzarella cheese sprinkled with fresh basil. Basil makes everything taste good and it tastes even better when it is served with mozzarella and sausages. This was no exception.

DSC05837The Flying Buffalo on the other hand was very different from Sicilian. It’s a cheese based pizza or in other words, they don’t use the regular pizza sauce made out of tomatoes but instead they use creamy cheese sauce. This was further topped with buffalo sauce, spicy chicken, mozzarella and parmesan bread crumbs  and drizzled with hot sauce. Overall this pizza has a kick! So if you can’t handle spicy, this might not be for you. It is definitely different from regular pizzas.

DSC05826_bostonsIf we had to pick a favorite out of the two, it would definitely be Sicilian. Every bite was juicy and bursting with flavors. I think it had a lot to do with the basil 😉 Just saying I might be biased.

DSC05838Overall we loved our food at Boston’s. We were seated immediately. Our service was prompt. We didn’t have to wait for our host. Our server, Kelly was always checking on us. Another interesting thing about this location is on Sundays, they have a balloon artist on location. So if you have kids this could be something fun for them or if you are like me, it can be something interesting for you too. I asked for a teddy bear and the artist made one for me in seconds!

DSC05798So this Valentine’s day or the days leading to Valentine’s day if you feel like having pizza, go to Boston’s. You will not only be fulfilling your appetite but will also be helping those in need indirectly.
